A place of peace.
A moment to
find yourself.
Monastery of Saints Peter and Paul in Germagno.
A Benedictine community on the slopes of Mount Massone, overlooking Lake Orta.

A balcony over the lake.
A home for everyone.
The Monastery of Saints Peter and Paul in Germagno is a Benedictine priory of the Sublacense-Cassinese Congregation, founded in 1971.
Set on the slopes of Mount Massone, it overlooks Lake Orta as if from a natural balcony.
As the house of God, where the monks themselves are the first guests, the monastery remains a place where everyone can find refreshment and peace.
Men and women can share this atmosphere of listening and find renewed strength for their daily journey.

Rediscover your path.
From April to September, the community welcomes scout groups with their own tents to a field on the monastery grounds. The field has drinking-water taps and portable toilets that are set up when needed.
The minimum age requirement is that of the “Branca Rover e Scolte”, the older scout section, including its introductory stage (“noviziato”): this section covers ages 15 to 21.
Different voices.
One community.
The community currently consists of twelve monks, joined by seven “brothers and sisters in the world”. Two sisters also live near the monastery, seeking to make the community’s monastic spirit their own through a more eremitic way of life.
Despite the differences arising from our individual vocations, we all seek to bear witness to one “community”, deeply committed to the good of each of its members and to living in the spirit of the good zeal that Benedict describes in chapter 72 of his Rule.
